In bullying cases, protect safety first and preserve the record second

Step one: remove the danger
At the first sign of verbal or physical bullying, find a teacher, parent, or other trusted adult. Attempting to retaliate alone rarely resolves the situation and often escalates it.
Evidence shapes outcomes
Screenshot harassment messages in full, including timestamps. Photograph any physical injuries and visit the school nurse or a clinic for a record. When reporting to school staff, request written acknowledgement of the complaint.
When to escalate legally
For repeated or organised bullying that causes injury, guardians can formally trigger the school's anti-bullying procedure. Severe cases involving criminal conduct can be reported to the police. Regulations issued in 2024 specify what schools are obligated to do.
